Well there's no doubt the threading is very very similar...

Thank you very much!

Hi

Sorry to put a slightly depressing spin on this - althought I've seen a number of these over the years that are clearly old and had with myself -  a similar debate -Richardsons or Kralik etc - I have also seen a number of these bowls that are clearly brand new.

Hopefully Lynne, in this case, yours is old....

I have seen them with no wear at all underneath and with what I like to call desparate wear -ie all wear is even and goes in the same direction

This only applies to the Bowl -the other pieces I've no  reason to think they're being reproduced.

cheers

Mike

Thanks Mike - I know exactly what you mean, I am very wary about some of the items being offered in the salerooms.

The wear on this is pretty consistent with age, very fine cracks all different directions with patches of scuff in between.

Let's hope someone finds out who made these some time in the future, looks like we are stuck with either or for the moment... :(

Thank you very much!

Just had this note sent to me:

Quote
I thought you might like to know this bowl (or similar, yours is more opaque) is listed in the 2007 millers antique guide page 405 as Pallme-konig c1905 with a guide price of £310-£350.

Has anyone got that copy by chance, and can have a look for me?

thanks!

Thank you very much!

Hi Lynne, yes i have it and it is in there, the only differance i can see is that the lip on yours seem,s to have two indent's and the one in Miller's has three.
The description in Miller's state " A Palme-Konig iridescent glass bowl, with banded decoration, bohemia, c1905 ( very precise !)
7in (18cm) diam.

Great!  Fingers crossed that is what it is then.  It is a very pretty bowl - the indents are each made of four tiny circular dents in a straight line, does it look as though the one in Millers is the same, or is the dent a single straight line?

Thank you very much!
