I bought this very cheaply on Monday. Now cleaned up it looks great! Neither the seller nor I were sure if the glass base matched the top.   It is a pretty snug fit (when pushed fairly hard)though and had obviously been together for some time - the tarnish on ther spoon and the top of the container proved this. It all seems hardly used barely a scratch on it. Both parts are maked- the base bears an etched mark- Webb England but has no marks to the silver rim. The top is marked PHV and co  Made in England.
Do you think they belong? At first i thought the Webb piece must be a vase.... but they do look good together. David
