There is a late Martini vase (from 1995) on ebay.au at the moment. Click here to view the ebay page.

This example has several of the features of Selina’s vase that were not displayed in the examples I gave earlier, such as the splayed mouth and the closed button-like “flowers”. It also has some features of the later 1998 Tina Cooper I showed.

I suppose I should have hedged my bets and suggested that Selina’s item is either very late Martini or early independent Tina Cooper.

With this one for comparison, I would not call Selina’s vase ugly!

Wow! Its amazing what new knowledge has come about. So...does this decrease the value of my vase? I thought it was a lot older. I didnt get it in Qld though, but not far off, Northern NSW....
Thanks for the other amazing pics..Im trying to do a comparison of my own now...

Ive had a look here, but havent found anything like my vase. I can't find a lot of information on the net for some reason. I wonder why I havent heard more of these artists in Australia either. Such a shame.

Tina Cooper used to have a gallery at the top end of the main street in Eumundi, slightly inland from the Sunshine Coast.  If she is still there - ring her and find out she may be very happy to verify if it is one of hers or a Martini production.

Hi All, I wonder if I could add one more example to the discussion please. It's an iridescent perfume bottle about 25cm high including stopper. It appears very similar to Ross' unknown #2 perfume (his photo #4) with the cross-over applied glass trails and general characteristics. I'm pretty sure mine is by Tina Cooper. I've attached a pic of the signature (for what it's worth with my photography) which is very similar to that on a piece of Tina's Sealife vases that I've got. The T almost looks like a Y. Also inscribed on the underside of the foot is the date 199? (perhaps 1999), a cursive L right in the middle of the pontil, and what I though might have been the name of the piece, which looked something like Matrix (and there's more after it, but indecipherable to me). I don't think it says Martini Glass, but I guess it could. So it's quite a busy base. Thanks, Andrew

Its gorgeous! Try as I might, I cant find a signature on mine anywhere!! And though there are similarities, I cant find one in the same 'style' as mine either....

We should expect to find close similarities between later Martini Glass items and early independent Tina Cooper or Mark Galton items (say between 1994 and 1996). The odds are strong that Selina's unsigned piece is by Tina shortly after the break, thus around 1995-96. As I said earlier, much of Tina's output has been unsigned, and even the Martini pieces she made were mostly signed as Martini by Mark. What's more, its colours and style are two feminine to come from Mark alone.

Selina, there is no reason to expect you will find close similarities between your piece and Tina's current output on her web site - yours was made 15 or so years ago. An artist's style evolves, particularly when the working relationships and influences are different.

Here are two more examples of Tina's signature for Andrew to compare.

Solved! Verified by Tina Cooper that this was one of her early pieces..
