I think I have seen about 5 different crimp styles so far, a lot of them on the clear frills on cranberry glass baskets.  The most common seems to be the little sun ray, with this grid pattern coming close up the straight...

It is a wonderful site, with very very nice pictures....

as you say, keep a hanky nearby to wipe the keyboard....
