Here we go again. I have this vaseline bowl & was wondering if looks familar to anyone? The band around the bowl has the circles with a rough texture surrounding it.

looks very much like my riihimäki vase - it must be related. It is called "Presto" and was designed by Tamara Aladin, made between 1968 and 1971

Did she do fruit bowls, everything I have looked at that she made was vases?

Well Riihimäki certainly made fruit bowls in that shade of uranium and many of their ranges had dishes and vases, see here for an example of a Tamara Aladin fruit bowl http://www.designlasi.com/galleria.php?kuvaID=470&lang=1&sarja_id=26

Yes Pip's Trip belongs to our Pip - a fantastic retro site - I was delighted to see her link below the bowl at designlasi.

Thank you very much!

Thank you so much desiraerae and Lynne for your kind words, however it needs to be said that my site owes a hell of a lot to the generous and knowledgable members of this board who have helped me so much over the past couple of years  :hiclp:

It's the way of the elders, teaching the newcomers, that has survived centuries, isn't it Pip, sort of like sitting round the camp fire imparting knowledge through words, not written down in a book.  We don't have actual objects to pass around, but we do have pictures on the web to take that place.

I think it is often more helpful, and sticks in the mind better.
Thank you very much!
