* Insulators & Crackled Glass Insulator....
« on: November 13, 2007, 09:43:28 AM »
Hi, I have these Insulators that I need help with.  I do believe the DOMINION ones are Canadian made - correct ?

FIRST PHOTO (Top Row, left to right):
1). Large white one - "D" in a diamond, and says DOMINION - 42.  The Number 5 is under the diamond.
2). Large Crackled Glass one - "D" in diamond, says  DOMINION - 42. The Number 4 under the diamond.
3). Large Smokey Grey Glass one - WHITALL TATUM, No.1
                                                Made in USA
                                                43 - 46
                                                  . A .
Bottom Row:
4). Small Black/or Amesyest Glass - Just has a Diamond shape on it with no letter in it at all.
5). Small Aqua Glass one -  Just has a Diamond shape on it with no letter in it at all.

SECOND PHOTO:
6). Large Clear Glass one -  "D" in diamond, says DOMINION - 42. The Number 2 under the diamond.
7). Small Smokey one -  Says   WHITALL TATUM --( Has like two rows for wire/gaps.)
                                           No. 3
                                           Made in USA
                                           18 - 47
                                            A (in a circle)
THIRD PHOTO:
Just the crackled glass one.  Are this misfired ones, as not one of the cracks goes through, or can you feel on the outside.  It was indicated to me (?) that this happened in the factory.  Is that true?  If so, does this oddity increase the value ?  Please advise...with any information/age/value of these.  THANKS.

Rose      :-\ Whew...

yes, marcus...I am from right around where Dominion (Battleford) Insulators were made here in Canada.

Most of these samples were found by us , near our own farm.  Never bothered to figure out till now, as they have just been sitting there all years collecting dust.  I have a few more... :-\
