2 pieces of Swedish glass (maybe) - ID Caithnes, FM Konstglas Ronneby

(1/2) > >>

BJB:
I love this glass with an engraved bird, possibly an eagle, with a fish in its talons.

The bottom part of the glass is dark purple on on the base are the initials L.S. Do they ring a bell with anyone? It looks Scandanavian in design, but apart from that ..... :(

The other is a swan and it is signed on the base, but I can't make it out, and also has a label for Marcolin but I haven't heard of them. It really is lovely though as all the feathers are individual.

MARCOLIN

There is an assumed connection with Josef and Benito Marcolin. Two seconds to Google this – try looking for "marcolin glass" (without the quotes.

:D Hello Barbara,
To me, the colour, shape and theme of the engraved piece say Caithness. I don't know what the L.S. might be though. I shall wait and see if I'm corrected. :D

RAY:

FM konstglas Ronneby - Fratelli Marcolin, Josef and Benito, worked in Sweden for many many years. The association with Sardinia after their retirement lasted only a few months - don't know where the online information came from but it is not complete or correct. The sig you cannot read probably says  "FM Ronneby"
