I read recently that URL redirects are the latest trick in the spammers article, sending you to a site of their choice. Although the take overs are only temporary and not global.

Surely they would need the registrant's details to gain access to the domain name server and allow the redirect to be altered?

I have to say it doesn't make me feel very comfortable about the security of some ISPs if that's the case! :-\

I had a warning from my hosting company about this.  It is usually done with a phishing email so they said :-\.
Tim

I started with Carnival glass, then other C20 irridescent, then Whitefriars ducks, then Dartington FT Daisies etc, then Whitefriars Tricorns...when will it end?

Rather than start a panic about ISPs or websites being hacked, if we look at this logically we can try and work out what happened to Sue. :)

Sue, do you still have the URL of the site you visited please? (The Gozo one you were trying to link to.) If so, can you send it to me by email (glass AT yobunny DOT co DOT uk - change the obvious bits to @ and .) and I'll have a look and see if I can figure out what happened.
Cheers! Anne, da tekniqual wizzerd
