Where are these buildings located - souvenir goblet

(1/1)

uphoosier:
This cut glass goblet is 5" tall and has a thick. heavy foot.  I've pretty much settled on it being a souvenir goblet, circa 1880 from Bohemia or possibly Italy.  If you have a differing opinion, please tell me.  I would like to identify the locale of the scenes.  Note that one panel shows palm trees and the other shows pine trees.  This has me thinking Mediterranean, but I have no idea where.  Hopefully someone here sees something they recognize, and can point me in the correct direction.  The amber panel has a simple laurel wreath.  Thanks for looking.

Ivo:
100 per cent Bohemian, made any time between 1850 and 2000 and quite likely a fantasy decoration.

Sklounion:
I would agree with Ivo, and perhaps go a little further in putting the view that this is probably not from one of the top-quality manufacturers, based on the relatively poor quality engraving.

Marcus

uphoosier:
Thanks for the replies.  I was hoping to ID the locale, but the open rotunda with the cross on top just didn't make sense.  I don't think a description of "fantasy souvenir goblet" will attract a lot of interest.   I have no doubt, however, it dates closer to 1850 than 2000.  Thanks again.
