(1/2) > >>

Martyn K:
ID please...

sandblasted (I think) surface with coloured trails and blobs, 21cm (8 1/4in) high, heavy.

1st word = Robert or Roberta?
2nd word = ****ter or ****ton or similar?
dated      = 2003

Maybe one for Adam A with it being signed on an unpolished base  ;)

Many thanks,
Martyn.

Could it possibly be Robin Smith?  Melting Pot Glass works in Lancashire, he works with another ex-Dartington chap Jeff Walker.   :huh:

Martyn K:
I guess it's possible Max stylistically it has some similarities to his work (maybe a little simpler)....the sig does'nt quite look like Robin Smith to me, but I have'nt one of his for comparison...?

thanks for the idea.

 Checkout Robert Eickholt he is American, His early paperweights were just signed Eickholt and year ie 1990 but he does a lot of beautiful vases with more room on base for full signature but i cant say i have seen any with satin finish. google his site.Regards JP.

Martyn K:
Hi JP,
That's another maybe...He does make pieces with 'etched' surfaces and it does look similar.

Points against are....most of his pieces seem to have ground and polished bases, from what I can see online I would say his look more detailed/complex and a bit sharper, also the signature shape on this vase just does'nt seem to fit with his but the 1st letter maybe an 'E'? The best guess I can make might be Easter, Easton, Feston. All that said you maybe right, if I could find a piece of his with the 'Robert' engraved clearly that might decide it...I'll do some more digging.

Many thanks.
