Sklo or not so sklo maybe murano??? Heavy green ashtray...
« on: April 20, 2017, 06:45:46 PM »
This is an unusual piece iv haven't been able to find out much about I have seen similarities in murano and some sklo or Czech glassware and wondered if anybody may have owned this design in the past. Its very heavy over 1.5kg like many sklo pieces ive owned yet the unusual edge to the base is not something ive seen on other Czech/sklo pieces before? It measures 6" square and 4" tall maybe purely art glass or an ashtray as it would be useful as either thank you for looking mike.

p.s. the base has many very tiny movement scratches I would have thought easily possible from the mid 20th century

It's sklo, that just means glass, but it is not Sklo Union because it's mould blown (by hand) and not pressed. Doesn't strike me as being Murano though
