TECHIE TIPS: Short URL links

If you find a site with a huge long URL that scrolls forever, you can use a short form to make it look much neater.

From the posting screen use the URL function - press the insert hyperlink icon (the one which looks like a globe  in the 2nd icon row above the box you type your post into) to give you an URL tag,  then put an = sign between URL and ] and follow the = with the long link, then between the ] of that long link and the ending [/url] tag type the short text link you want to use...  so it will look something like this in your create new message screen:

--- Code: ---[url=http://www.example.com]LINK[/url]
--- End code ---

which would give this effect: LINK in the posted message on the forum.

Much neater!  8)
