Green grapefruit dish question...

(1/3) > >>

Anne:
This is one of a pair of unmarked grapefruit dishes. The pattern is applied to the surface - it's a bit like the rough snow finish on older Xmas cards before glitter was used: I don't know how it's done. Does anyone have any ideas who may have made these dishes please or has anyone researched grapefruit dishes? I have almost 40 of these dishes in different colours and styles and would love to know more about who made them.

:D Hello Anne,
That finish was used by Chance (Pilkington) on several ranges, but also by several French glass companies, as far as I know.

Anne:
Thanks Sue, that gives me a lead to follow up.

Now, about the other 30-odd dishes...???  ::)  ;D

Overshot ? Frit ?

chopin-liszt:
:D I don't know what overshot is, but the surface is more like rough ground enamels, applied to the surface, but not totally melted onto it, just enough to make it stick and to ensure no sharp edges.
