--- Quote from: Ivo ---"Bohemian glass - Tradition and Present" published by Crystalex in 1991.
Commissioned by a manufacturer of more mundane objects the book stays within the boundariies of findable glass and highlights techniques, and I think Langhamer who wrote the section on 20th century glass did a fine job.

Ivo,
Your observations on Langhamer are accurate. His recent book is in much the same vein, and one is left with the feeling that his view-point is that domestic and industrial glass production, during the communist era, is something to be proud of. Professor Jan Michl is quite clear in his views that there would be, and has been, an attempt to sanitize the history of the period, and that is to be expected, as part of the healing process. Langhamer does not appear to be interested in participating in that process, continuing to write on the subject, in an erudite and forth-right manner. Certainly his history is not revisionist, evasive, or apologetic.
At £45, I'm seriously tempted to invest in a book which is well illustrated, with quality affordable and interesting glass.
Regards,
Marcus
