Is this carnival
                    marigold in colour 5ins high 5.5 in diameter star and diamond shape under the bowl looks as though it cast in four piece's the other is a bowl which is more iridescent.
and is more plane with a star shape base, an confused with these as dont know if both classed as carnival? the smaller of the two stand 3ins high by 5.5 in diameter. tint of blue and green in it, thanks

First one, No. It's just pink glass – it must have iridescence to be carnival. Post it separately for an ID
The second is Imperial's Pillar Flute and was exported to the UK in large quantities see here

Actually I'd disagree with the idea that large quantities of Pillar Flute were imported into the UK. What I actually said back in 2006 was that masses of Imperial Carnival came to the UK. But I wouldn't have said that a huge amount of it was Pillar Flute. Probably more Imperial Grape, Windmill, Ripple and Fashion than anything.

By the way, the other item looks like Sowerby's Derby aka Pinwheel (service 2414) pattern. The same design was also made by Inwald and Hortensja. I'll try and write more when I get a bit more time.

Oops, sorry Glen. Pillared flute is very common round here compared with Ripple and Fashion though

Glen thank you for the info, i must say i am edgeing towards collecting carnival at the moment but am having to much fun to decide as yet, will get round to it some time this year, in the mean time am still hunting, fantastic hobby.
