Thanks Hazel,
lovely vase, mine seems to be in the same style, but no irridescence, and im sure, now,  its more likely
a Stourbridge, maybe Stuart or similar example.
Im still sure its 80 to 100 years old though.

Cheers
Andy

Another idea from Mr Hajdamachs new book,
page 24  Stevens and Williams 'fibrelose' design,1902, a decanter with similar random trailed green over clear,
and as i was leaning towards Stourbridge c1900, its pretty close.

What thinks the panel?  ;D
Andy

edit.. mines got a bit more green on it, but the more i look the closer they appear ;)

I was not active when this thread started so I think it is important to note that the images posted as an example of Texas, I believe to actually be a Kralik version of Texas, and not Loetz. I am posting a Texas example, a close-up of Texas, and another example of the decor shown above as Texas, except in different colors and identified as a Kralik piece....   Texas does appear in multiple colors.

Typically, the applied vertical veins or threads are much denser on Loetz Texas than the Kralik version, and the surface of Texas is more three dimensional, where the Kralik version is "flatter".

The addition of the leaves on the piece would also immediately preclude it from being Texas if it were Loetz. Texas with anything applied to it would be a different decor, such as Empire, which is the base Texas glass decor with an applied wreath and/or garland decor. The last image is an example of Empire.

For what it is worth, the piece strikes me as English for some reason.....

Thanks Miranda and Craig  ;D
The pictures of the loetz and Kralik Texas are great, im pretty sure now this is English,
Craig, theres no leaves on this one, i think its the other thread ive got going with the applied leaves,
also Bohemian or English that you may be thinking of.
Im digging up too many threads and confusing everyone, including myself  ::)
Cheers

Hi Andy,

The attribution I was correcting was the one referencing the "Texas" attribution to the images in the Picasa Web links posted above by "Glasseyed". Not another posting of yours....  I may be confused... but not that confused....
