There is something perversely satisfying in getting an "unidentified" reply as it means that I haven't missed something obvious.

Thread for merging Mods.

It seems this set has 2 variant types of pots and 3 variant types of candlesticks. The Tray and ring holder always remain the same.

Edit:

Another 2 threads here for merging Mods.

So, with great thanks to Mike Tomlins amazing website, http://www.victorianpressedglass.com/sowerby_archive.htm

The Sowerby 2590 pattern which appears in 1938 catalogue page 11 has been identified, tall pointy pot finials and lobed candlesticks;

http://www.victorianpressedglass.com/pdf/sowerby/sowerby_1938.pdf

and the Sowerby 2636 pattern which appears in the 1940 catalogue page 11 with floral pot finials and floral candlesticks is also identified;

But, we still have the sets with the branched candlesticks that appear with the tall pointy pot finials to track down. The branched candlesticks have always seemed to be more abundant than the lobed type in my opinion. The branched version are also quite substantial and tough like the lobed, so perhaps it was for customer candle economy they swapped to lobed or just added branched later for more customer options.

I can certainly see why they changed the pointy finials, they are pretty fragile as someone mentioned earlier in the topic, but at that point everything except the tray and ring stand were changed.

I wonder should you make another Tynesyde pattern number Anne, so that you can add the plentiful photos with branched candlesticks that Fred has added here?
Also a note that 2636 is showing as 1953 not 1940 on GTS.
