Having attended many Mardi Gras celebrations in New Orleans I didn't even pay attention to your remark. Latex would be a tame costume at Mardi Gras :D

Oooooh I would so love to go to Mardis Gras! I really would. I might have to work on my derriere before attempting a costume though. :roll:

Hi Paul,
I know, the base just doesnt look like Bianconi to me. All the "Harlequin (or Pierot)," thanks Leni, have rather simple bases. In looking at it more and more, the piece looks to me like a Barovier piece. I went through some auction catalogues I have and its eyes look like the Barovier "Cordonato" woman figure on the catalogue.
Also, I have another Barovier piece (a Vase) with a similar, large gold pedestal on it. Saying that, I havent seen Barovier pieces be so colorful before. Maybe its a side of Barovier and Toso, or Ercole Barovier himself that has been hidden from many before, lol.

Just been going through some old stuff in one of my files on Flavio Poli and found reference to a series of brightly coloured figures from a masked ball that were blown by Seguso in the late 1930's, no pictures I'm afraid, but just a thought!
