While trying to document my collection, I came across this old posting and the discussion about the signature of Erwin Eisch.

In 2002 or 2003 I visited the Eisch glassworks in Frauenau during our family holidays.

The glass museum was closed that year, but to make a long story short: because we were interested in the work of Erwin Eisch, we got a private guided tour by -I think- Erich Eisch through the the Erwin Eisch Retrospective in the museum gallery, the glassworks and we visited also the Sommer-Akademie sponsered by Eisch.

In the gallery, we bought this studio piece signed E Eisch. I suppose this piece is actually made by Erwin Eisch and that it has his signature at the bottom.

Bruno, are you asking if it is his signature?  Does it say '02' ?  i.e. 2002?
If so was he still working with glass then?

In 2002 he was still working on glass. In the gallery we saw an impressive collection of self portraits in glass, but those were completely beyond our budget. So we settled for the vase. I suppose that the 02 stands for 2002.

His websites shows some glass works (portrait heads) up till 2004.

He had a exhibition in 2007 for his 80th birthday, with recent paintings and glass.

By the way, you can see his signature on the paintings on the website.
