1/ There is no Darcy or d'Arcy in Giuseppe Cappa's Le Génie Verrier de l'Europe, 2/ there is virtually no informatrion available on the web and 3/ it is a single layer cameo - so I have the creepy feeling it is a Chinese or Romanian fantasy name. It wouldn't be the first, either

Probably worth chasing up her painter angle, possibly the glass, if hers, was a very minor issue.

Well I heard back from the lady who is here in Ohio & sometimes appears in an antique TV show. These first showed up in the mid to late 50's & suspicion is they were done in Eastern Europe, probably Czech when they were under the Soviets, privately done. Its not machine made, it is Cameo type since the outer blue layer is cut back by hand, probably sandblasted, but quality wise its OK, but not up to French quality standards. Came in two sizes 13 & 16" & both have roughly the same theme in blue just different floral scene. Not common to find one anymore. She liked the Cecile Darcy idea since it would have been common practice to farm out the job & then market them through the designer or their agent. She was going to try to narrow down the Cecile Darcy deal. She's sold a couple over the years...not expensive in the $250 range so I'm OK.

Kovels has reference to one that sold for $290 in 2002... but no info on the company. I'm thinking China also.

Found a China site showing some vases and some lamps that aren't bad looking.  My computer kept telling me I needed Chinese but just ignore that:   http://www.atopco.com/hp.htm

Some nice pieces, if not high art, pity they don't give some larger pictures. And a manufacturer identified instead of the usual wholesaler.

I love the association with soap on the same menu
