Janice, Anne,
What struck me as Cambridge at first thought were the vertical cuts as I mentioned before. An example of this is Cambridge Pattern #3114 aka "Candlelight."  I know that it is a cut pattern and not a grey cut as is Anne's bowl, but whenever I see that particular cut, I lean towards Cambridge.  They also had another cut that took some effort to find as I thought for a second that I had located Anne's pattern.  Cambridge cut #4075/pattern #7858.  It is grey cut with vertical cut lines and a floral pattern.  It turned out to be slightly off but it had a chance.  Back to the books. :)

Cypher thank you for checking, I've been through all the Cambridge patterns on Replacements.com and see what you mean by those vertical cuts looking like cut #4075 but it's not quite, as you say. I'll try and get some photos which show the design better - it's hard to get a decent shot of really. One thing I did notice was that Cambridge have some shaped bowls but they have 10 sides, whereas this one has just 8 sides. Does that help I wonder?

I have looked through the references I have on cut glass, American Cut and Engraved Glass, The Complete Cut & Engraved Glass of Corning, The Essence of Pairpoint and not found this design. A company that did the lines is Sinclair and they did an edge that was close to this but still nothing exact and it might not be American! Hopefully one day we'll see that edge with the rest and finally know who did this lovely piece.

I missed this one. This blank is not Cambridge, however it always causes confusion because its a ringer with those interior ridges, but the octagon rather than decagon edge is the key as I remember. This one should be posted to Chatabout as someone there with a more general knowledge of different company lines than I will probably ID it quickly. Anne if you wish & with your permission I could copy your pics & put it on the board & will clarify the ID is for someone on the GMB & if Ided I'll post it here if you are not a member, but I need your permission to do that or you can join ChataboutDG & post it...Christine is one of our members there so you won't be lonely.  Ken

Janice, thank you for continuing to search for me. :kissy:

Ken, thank you, that would be super. I did sign up at ChataboutDG but have only lurked occasionally and not posted, I'd not thought to post it there so that would be a good idea. Let's see if I can find my login details..... ahhh success, now to figure out where to ask about it and see if anyone can help. Thanks again Ken.

Edited to add: I've posted it now.  :rah:
