Thomas Gammon pressed glass oval dish
« on: July 21, 2008, 05:11:50 PM »
While at a local carboot on Sunday, one lady had a couple of old pressed glass oval dishes, one looked quite interesting as it has a date lozenge, I know I had not seen a similar piece before, I decided not to buy it as it had a few very small chips, I told the women I thought it was about 1860, but it was only when I got home and checked to see who made it I found out it was Thomas Gammon date lozenge for 10th January 1852, it was an oval dish about 9" by 5" very thick chunky glass, not sure if it would be an important piece , regret not buying it now as she only wanted a couple of pounds, and should I see it again would it be of any interest to anybody
