What is your source for Riihimäki ?
I can't find much on Jussis Glass - but according to this list of Finnish glass makers it is situated in Maarianhamina - which is quite some distance from Riihimäki.

BTW - your bird is also depicted in the Bridges-Nichols Collection (concentrating in Toikka birds).

Hi Wuff!!

Wow, what a wonderful list of makers,  I have saved it for future reference... and I was pleased to see how many of the Glass Studios I knew of and even had glass from!!  Thanks for that.

My bird is signed Jussis Glas Riihimäki... in the underside, as well as the label, so I wonder if the Studio moved at sometime??
Iif you put Jussis Glas into Google you do get several of these birds come up with the  Riihimäki location next to the signature.

There is a Jussis Glas bird on eBay at the moment with  Riihimäki  signed on the base, very like one of mine.Have a look,  I would be interested to know what you think.

The Bridges-Nichols Collection does say that this bird (like Michelle's) is often mistaken for Oiva Toikka, but that it is not one of his.

Michelle & Wuff, I was just taking pictures of my Scandi collection and discovered something quite unexpected!! :o

The signature on my bird does NOT read Riihimäki !!

I put talcum powder on it to take a better look and it says... Teskavoski
I can't believe it!
There are some, including the one on eBay at the moment, that do clearly say Riihimäki, but, mine doesn't!!

It just goes to show, that sometimes we read and see what we expect to see, not what is ACTUALLY there!

I am guilty of this... and am off to eat humble pie!  :-[

Tesvakoski would be just a few miles North of Riihimäki.

Oh Wuff,  Thank you so much... I was looking for a glass artist with that name!!  Double 'humble pie' for supper tonight!!  :-[ :-[
And I have now seen that it is Tervakoski, with an 'r' not an 's'...  :-[

The Bidges-Nichols Collection shows two Toikka birds with a "Napapiirin Lasi" label or even signed "O.Toikka Napapiirin" (http://bn-collection.com/v/NAPAPIIRIN/) - both made at Nuutajärvi/Iittala. Now - Napapiirin is Northern Finland, and the explanation given by Bib Bridges is that these birds were commissioned by a company there, or the city itself - which is why this name was added (in one case) to the signature.

Could it be that the Jussi birds were signed in a similar way - naming the location of the commissioning company/city, and not the location of Jussi Glas ???.

That's a very interesting thought Wuff, and one well worth consideration... my only reservation is that some of the silver streaked birds are signed Riihimaki and some Tervakoski, even though they are the same design.   ???
