French? Czech? ID = "Asteroid" by Jan Sylvester Drost for Zabkowice

I had thought that this might be Czech until I looked through Hi Sklo Lo Sklo and saw nothing like it in there. (BTW, a big thank you to Mark for the book, which has established where a good few pieces in my collection were made. A very helpful book and well laid out.) Then a friend with a good eye suggested that it might be French, so waiting for Marcus's book won't help here. It's 7" tall and almost 3" at its widest. I would be grateful for any opinions, ideas, or even wild speculation (heck, it's Friday night, after all).

I have not a clue of course but I'd suspect Skruf, Peill&Pützler or the high end of Polish design. It is obviously seventies and a well-finished good quality crystal. I have a cylindrical vase in the same vein and have not been able to pinpoint it.

Is this not "Asteroid" by Jan Sylvester Drost, and made at Zabkowice glassworks in Poland?

Marcus, :o "Asteroid" has coloured round bits on a much more line-y background texture and I don't think it's of this quality either.  ;)

I was under the impression that the coloured items, were a pattern known as "Aztec", from a German maker... see this topic.

Looking at Pressglas-Korrespondenz, PK2001-2, page 22, and image Abb. 02-2001/081, I can confirm that David's piece is definitely "Asteroid" designed by Jan Sylvester Drost, 1972/73, and made by Zabkowice, in Poland. This design won Drost a gold medal at the 2nd International Exhibition of Glass and Porcelain, held at Jablonec nad Nisou, Czechoslovakia, in 1976.
