Galle vase
« on: August 19, 2005, 02:08:23 PM »
It dawned on me that I meant to post pictures of this little vase some time back and never got round to it so catching up now. Has both the original Galle label and that of the Bordeaux retailer as shown.
Can't decide whether to keep it or not, so could be open to offers, if not enjoy.

I think we've become so unaccustomed to seeing any unfalsified Gallé - even if it is from the prolific production period after his death - that it is worth while hanging on to it just for the sake of the stickers.

You could be right Ivo, but I've bought so much glass lately, I'm getting a bit swamped, but if it doesn't take anyones fancy, then I'll hang on to it for a while.

ooooooh!
Tyra leaf, Inciso decanter, Seguso shells, Dino Birds + Geode.... any chance you are also tired of those? hehe. Do you accept trades? :D

By the way the little Galle vase is really nice. I've been watching the Galle stuff on Ebay, but rarely come across any early pieces. Are they now very rare? I have wanted to buy some before but it is hard, at least for me since I dont know about pre-or-post designs. Always liked him though.
How tall is that little vase?

Hi Paul

Naah.... you've got tons of space left yet....you haven't even put any shelves up :!:  :!: . Your study might be a little disorganised but until you've got countless pieces in every nook and cranny then keep bringing it on home.
The time to know when you might be getting close to capacity is when you have to use that WD40 to get out of the room..... and then you simply build another conservatory.
I bet there will be many a reader of your posting that will smile and think... "home"

Regards

Gareth

Oh puhleeeeez, Chuggy! That is verging on tidy and neat. The keyboard is fully accessible, there are patches of desk uncovered and spaces begging to be filled    You've got a long way to go yet.

I wouldn't dare to show you photos of my study
