Large Iridescent Glass Lamp Shade
« on: October 05, 2011, 07:40:31 PM »
Hi All,
Could anyone help to identify the origins, maker or date of manufacture of this large iridescent glass lamp shade, the shade is 13.25" wide x 8" in height. The shade is stunning with alot of different colours and lots of iridescent both inside as well as outside of the shade.
Many thanks. Fisher.

Hi!  Possible starting point.  :-[    http://www.andrewhartleyfinearts.co.uk/listing.asp?id=36&archive=true&sub=GlasswareHope this might be of some help.  I do think yours have a more of a vibrant colour to them.  Very nice indeed!  Just the shades I am after.  ;)

Thank you Otis for your reply and your complements regarding the shade, I have had a look at the link you provided and couldn't find anything similar. Hi Scimiman I am based in NorthYorkshire. Kind regards. Fisher

Hi,
I have seen allot of these coming up in various sales and John Ditchfield of Glaform being the supplier. You could drop them a line with a picture to investigate that avenue.
The other train of thought and most likely is that these are seen in huge numbers in theme pubs/restaraunts and when they are due for a makeover these are thrown out and whatever new designs go in.
I strongly suspect that these come in from China India etc as I cant see pub/restaraunt companies paying what JD would want.
Anyway hopefully one of these ideas come up trumps for you.

Came across this whilst moving topics around... I suggest it might be Adrian Sankey of Ambleside. See same shape here...
http://www.glassmakers.co.uk/archive/displayproduct.cfm?productid=110 which they produced in a range of colours. (Link to colour chart is on that page too.)
