Anybody recognize this cranberry cut to clear vase? VSL?

(1/1)

Glasshound:
Hi Folks,

At first glance I thought this was Val St. Lambert but I don't have any reference material to prove it..It's 10 1/2 inches high..The glass is a 1/2 inch thick..It has a polished pontil and it's signed on the bottom..the letters look like "Vaes? Lamliey"..The last letter looks like a "y" or a "g"..That's why I don't think it's "Lambert"

Thanx in advance!

Blair

Ivo:
The VSL sig can be sketchy and trailing off - I would not worry about it being anything else.

Glasshound:
Thx...wish I could figure out how old it was...

Ivo:
the shape is almost identical to the "Septime" vase which was in the catalogue until VSL closed in (was it 2002?) - except that the Septime is listed as 9"/230 mm and the cutting is different. So I think it could be quite recent...

Glasshound:
There's significant wear to the base and some cloudiness in the interior bottom of the vase which leads me to believe that the vase is not of recent production....

thx!

Blair
