I think we have to mark that attribution in Miller's as an error on the basis of Dirk's label

Christine, i´d agree - looks like the most likely theory to me. i don´t have
that miller´s book to compare though.

TC, sorry if i don´t get certain points straightaway. please mind, that english
is not my first language and i sometimes struggle with both understanding and
phrasing. 

i don´t have the small vase, which is the second one with a label, here at the
moment. by memory i´d say it has a matted surface.
aswell there is not the slightest difference between the labelled 14cm vase and
the 11cm vases i´ve posted - clear and matted.
most convincing conclusion to me is, that these vases were actually made by
walther...

...unless we start a debate on Descartes, quantum physics, conspiracy theories...

I'm not disagreeing with you, just clarifying.

I'm just saying that it's possible that it was made by both companies, although i must admit it's probably unlikely in this case. A few glass items on this forum (i think) have been identical to each other and yet made by two different companies. I agree that since the Pukeberg and Walther labels are very similar that it may have been an error.

trying to clarify is what we´ve got in common. 

to be honest, i didn´t consider the possibility that both made it seriously.
does Miller´s give a hint, where they get their attribution from?

Dirk, there's no source for that attribution in the book, but as the author, Nigel Benson, is a member of this board he may be able to add more to the discussion.

Just read this thread. The information on the vase at the time of Miller's Collecting 50's & 60's Glass going to press was that is was Pukeberg, however many labelled pieces have turned up since that say it is in fact Walther.

So, my apologies for creating what will now be something that will keep coming up as a misnomer

If I were able to put corrections into the books, believe me I would. Sadly, despite one's best efforts something will always get through :huh:   There are no plans for reprinting, so it won't get corrected that way either.

I will try and update the corrections in the 'sticky'.
