It's not really my thing but it looks more like Czech production to me.  Hefty price tag, I wonder what makes them think it's 'rare'?

it doesnt sit right with me either - more is the pity though as some guy at an auction gave me two of them for free as he thought they were 'rubbish' and didnt want to take them home with him  ;D

Maybe the rariety is due to there not being another example of a 'Murano squid' vase?!
