Hi,

I was just wondering what site this original poster has - I'd like to look at your new paperweights too!

I guess I better hurry and get the recent buys in the store, so people will have something to look at. Most of the Murano weights sold in the last couple of weeks.

I've looked a bit more at generic millefiori PWs today. The canes of weights like mine look a lot like those that are used on the egg-shaped weights -- the ones that don't have patches of satin glass showing through. I guess for now they'll have to go into the generic category. Generic is definitely not bad, because it just means that no one seems to know who made them.

Ciao Anita!
Sono stato tante volte in italia e anche a venezia e murano: gli italiani facchiamo tutto!
Hello Anita,
I have been often in italy. also at murano and venezia. The italians are big creators and they fix all, also in "fermacarte" = paperweights.
Your low-dome I think is 100% Murano.
I will send you some pictores of mine.
Regards.

Ciao again.
The rest.
I think the shape of your pwt is a kind of " frame of mind of the italian maker" (that means: everything goes).

I send also a fratelli toso pice with sticker-
Regards

You have a very nice collection!

Could I see a larger pic of that paperweight with the black background? Also a picture of the base. I suspect that one may be one of the new Chinese lookalikes but it's hard to tell in that photo.
I collect Scottish and Italian paperweights and anything else that strikes my fancy.

The patches of same-color canes does look like some of the Chinese PWs shown at http://www.cnexpot.com/abglasweb/glassware1/glass3/zg00224.JPG. Lothar's first PW looks like it was done by the same maker as the ones in this post.

The FT weight with the taped label looks familiar, Lothar. I have a picture just like it.  ;D I used to be crystalcoin on eBay. It is nice to see pictures of old friends in their new homes.
