Walther Markings?

Hello everyone.
I'm brand new to this site.
I'm also a novice at collecting glass.  My interest is art deco styles.
All this said, can anyone tell me if Walther glass has markings on it to identify it?  I am looking at a "supposed" Walther Greta vase.  It doesn't have any markings or signature on it. I have researched the vase online. It certainly looks like a Walther Greta vase....same frosted areas, same number of grooves and curves.

What do you all think?

though most is not, at least some gilded glass from the 30´s is marked.

Hi Chergui, welcome to the board  :) May I ask where you live please?

Gill and Dirk are right, decorative items like Greta were not marked, despite some mystery items: we do not know whether the moulds were sold to Belgium and the plunger engraved accordingly or whether VEB Sachsenglas (GDR) produced these for exportation after WWII pretending to be of non-german production

I've got two marked FAIT EN BELGIQUE and one without this

Have got just one size marked FAIT EN BELGIQUE, the other items are not marked

The marks HEART with SG (Sächsische Glasfabrik) and CROWN with AWS (August Walther & Söhne) are only found on beer jugs and some plates for restaurants, pubs and cafés.

As Dirk said, the script Walther and DRGM (Deutsches Reichs-GebrauchsMuster) (registered trade mark) is only found on the gilded amber or amethyst items of 1930ies production. I think they were forced to do so, because the patterns / shapes imitated Moser cut crystal. Similar items of this range of 50ies and 60ies production, like the ice bucket are not marked of course, as Walther became VEB (VolksEigenerBetrieb)

Thank you everyone for such wonderful information and links.

I am a native of Chicago, Illinois, US, but I now live in Denver, Colorado, US.

Some of my other art glass interests are in the art deco perfume bottles from Czechoslovakia.  I like the stronger, angular line pieces in the art deco glass. 

Now that I only have one child in college, it is more possible to invest in some quality art.  Hooray!
