Glass Item (For lack of something to call it) for ID please :)
« on: September 21, 2010, 07:16:47 PM »
Just picked up a pair of these this morning at a garage sale and haven't seen something like this before.  If there's a name for these then someone please fill me in so I don't have to make up something for them!   :24: They are a bit heavy for their size with a pushed polished bottom as shown in the photos.  A Cranberry fading down to a light cranberry on the bulb at the top, the "stem" is a light sky blue.  Any ideas on these?  Couldn't resist at $5 for the pair even if they are modern. :)  Over 9" tall x 3" Wide at the base of the foot.

From what I can see no.  I forgot to mention the "stem" is a solid piece of glass.  The glass at the top on the bulb is about 1/4" thick.  Because of this, I had put out of my head that they were some art glass wine or cordials of some sort, but again I really haven't decided what they are or what to call them yet.  I really like them too and I feel they look a lot better in hand as my photos usually don't show the item well. :)

They are gorgeous!  Can't think what else they could be other than drinking glasses though?  The bowl colour is the same throughout, but the blowing out of the shape causes the colour to be less dense than at the top.   :)

I am not a man
