Deco or Debenhams!!
« on: February 24, 2009, 08:29:52 AM »
I remember in the 1980's Debenhams used to sell some pink Sundae dishes which, although completely plain with an undulating rim, were in a very similar pink colour. I bought these for a pound about five years ago in a second hand yard and I love them. They come apart so I put a candle in them for the dining table or mantlepiece and they look fabulous, I wouldn't dream of parting with them and always reckon they were the best pound buy I ever made. The top of the pedestal is completely flat so putting a lighted candle on them is a feat of balancing and I did wonder whether modern manufacturers would have more regard to safety! I have always assumed that they were from Debenhams or such. Until recently I had no idea that this sort of glass was made other than very recently. Does anyone have any ideas, please?
