A differ of opinion
« on: March 01, 2009, 05:55:13 PM »
My good ole mum bought this bowl in a charity shop for £1.50.
The more I look at it, the more I think its a good quality piece.
Where as mum thinks it is what it is and worth as much.

The bowl is a good heavy weight and is beautifully clear.
The base is polished and inverted.

I tend to lose these arguments with her as she has always had a good eye for quality.

I got in a right pickle trying to photo this, if there is anyone with advice for photoing clear glass I would welcome some advice.  :hb2:
I was using a light tent.

It reminds me very much of an Orrefors 'Orion' bowl that I once had.  Hopefully someone will know.

thanks Anne, I've google'd that and it reminded me, I did see a very similar design which was Swedish,
typical of me I didn't note the details.    :hb2:

this is the type of glass i'd seen, i know its not the same, but the design and the way it sort of "petals" out is similar, I couldn't think of a way to descibe what i meant.

Am I clutching at straws ?   :chky:
