No-one likes general adverts, and ours hadn't been updated for ages, so we're having a clear-out and a change round to make the new ones useful to you. These new adverts bring in a small amount to help pay for the board and keep it free for you to use, so please do use them whenever you can, Let our links help you find great books on glass or a new piece for your collection. Thank you for supporting the Board.

TECHIE TIPS: Subjects for posts - why do they matter?
« on: September 19, 2007, 04:47:01 PM »
Using a good descriptive Subject for your post will be more effective than something vague or generic. Subjects such as Please help, Help needed, or What is this? do not tell others what you're wanting help with, nor will they catch the eye of members with specific areas of interest.  Rather than the examples above, something like Carnival vase, maker sought, or Blue bowl with pontil, or Iridescent lidded pot with feet, etc... will probably work better for you.

More importantly still, they will not be found so easily when someone searches the board.  Search uses the Subject field as a primary search match, so making sure the Subject is relevant to your question will benefit both you and searchers.
Cheers! Anne, da tekniqual wizzerd
