Confused Cats ID = Cat = AvEM

I've seen these types of cats attributed to different Murano designers and glassworks:

Who designed and who manufactured this one?

I purchased this cat with this penguin (uranium?):

Both the cat and the penguin are about 5 inches tall. The cat, if you can see the interior color, is a pink or more lavender. Are these two figures manufactured by the same glasswork? Thanks in advance for any help; it's appreciated. Thank you! Kim

The label on the cat is AVeM. According to Heiremans in his book Murano Glass, Themes and Variations, the label was used on "non-artistic" exported pieces from the post-WWII period to at least the early 70s. By non-artistic, he was probably meaning tourist-type glass. I am glad you posted the picture of the cat. I had seen it frequently, but had no idea who made the design.

I'll have to leave the penguin to someone else.  :-\

Thank you Anita for the information. What year would you place the cat?
