Hi all

interestingly i probably wont throw any light on this either, lol, other than to say i think the engraving are not the same date line as the vase, 1956 seems very early for that style add 10-15 years and you are in the goran warff 'primative' style of which the design reminded me. My initial thought is that the engraving is a company logo for some scandinavian concern given as a prize or award within that comapny or to one of there clients... we may never know

excuse the double post..i just reread what i wrote and of course the whole idea that 1956 is too early for a 'primitive logo is a bit ridiculous as the cave drawings are many 1000's of years earlier than that!...sometimes i need a good shake !!

i couldn't find anything other than the below as an example of what i meant there are a couple of pics in smoke and ice' p.115/116 of the warff pieces.
