A weird item here. It is a blown bubble with a large 6" (16cm) flange. The bubble has a broken pontil where you'd expect it, and a small flattened section to stop it from rolling around. The hole is 3/4"(2 cm) so large enough for a large single flower or small flower arrangement.

Now somewhere in the back of my mind it says "Finland" - maybe because traditionally in the nordic countries flowers were so expensive that they made vases for a single flowers, or maybe the intense green. Or maybe there are other solutions?

Ivo — My immediate reaction was that it's missing its other half.   I visualised a Deco or Retro support in wood or transparent plastic with three or four spreading arms supporting the flat part, leaving the water container suspended in the centre.   Very stylish and extremely sexy.   ;D

Bingo and thank you very much, Nigel! Your memory banks are still solid - it is in Hintakirja. It is indeed Nanny Still and the vase is called "Saturnus"

Another mystery bites the dust!
