thanks for everyone's input - and as far as eastern European glass goes, I'm usually a prize thicky, but would be inclined to agree with Ivo that the colour is more likely to be classified as Citrine.    I appreciate Anik's comments, but am wondering if it is a sort of late 'deco' influence that is giving the piece this 'industrial/minimalist' look.    In fact I think it is quite a clever piece - lots of cutting  -  and as I mentioned in the beginning, it has almost an angular Scandinavian look (although not the colour, I do appreciate).   Do people suggest I send pics. to ZBS?
