Uranium "Rose" vase
Lustrousstone:
It looks like it should be Sowerby from the colour and the style, but unless it's in the catalogue that shows the Dora vase or a.n. other that isn't publicly available. I don't really know. Czech maybe. There was at least one other company that made good quality glass in this colour of uranium glass and used part frosting. It's big about 9 inches. Unfortunately it has a chip on one top lobe. Does anyone have any idea who made it please?
pamela:
Nice piece of glass :hiclp:
but unfortunately no idea at all from this end, sorry
Looking at it again today: Suddenly 'Australia?' came to my mind, but cannot tell why :-\
Good morning, Down Under: anyone? :D
bungie60:
Came across exactly the same vase this weekend but in pink at a car boot in Cannock Staffs nearly bought it £6 impressive piece probably the one that got away, usually collect uranium.Reminded me of a piece i had some time back by Hortensja of Poland http://www.geocities.com/carni_glass_uk_2000/HORTENSJA.html any way good luck yours Mark
Lustrousstone:
Ed could be right. I always forget about Hortensja, but the colour is right. Australia? Not sure we get any here in the UK
Glen:
Mark, the Hortensja link you gave is my article, my website.

I'll look through the Hortensja catalogue, Christine. As an aside, I'll mention fwiw, that the base reminded me of a couple of Czech and German items too.
Re. Hortensja glass in the UK - yes, I'm aware of it turning up here.
Glen
UPDATE: I've looked through my 2 Hortensja catalogues and also Stolle Niemen - the vase is not there.
