light Green glass floral vase unsigned, can you identify?
« on: May 26, 2009, 05:53:24 PM »
Hi, another puzzle!
does anyone recognise this floral vase, it is about 13cm high and has a green tinge to the glass, quite chunky thick glass. No signature. I thought it might be Scandinavian, but not sure.
Let me know your thoughts
Best Wishes
Vickie

One of the nicer modern Chinese vases I suspect.

Yes, definitely Chinese. These pieces are often sold on eBay as Murano, but are not. They were documented on one of the Chinese glass sites, which unfortunately, was either shut down or moved where I can no longer find it. Some of these types of vases are very well made. Others are not so good. I have had a couple of them. It took a while to attribute.

Thank you everyone for your replys, yes it look very like that vase, but not so green, I think it must be good example of a chinese art glass vase. Not sure about the value. I wrote to the chinese website to ask, if they new what happened to that page and could they direct me to a simular website. But no reply as yet!
Fingers crossed, my mum was hoping it was a Kosta vase, but that style is i a different league!
Thanks again
Vickie

An idea for a moderator:
Don't you think it would be great if you could list your glass item to be identified in a gallery listing style like ebay, then you can visually recognize them and help id them quicker. Or like me you could say "Oh, I recognise that"! and you get to know what to look out for yourself!

This forum script doesn't support that function, but we do have GlassGallery where you'll find ID'd and UnID'd items from the board as well:  http://glassgallery.yobunny.org.uk/
