Art Deco Frosted Glass Dishes - French but Arrers or Auxers?

HI

Hope I can help, I had last year the complete set of this glass in Opalescent, its part of a Desert Set , one large Bowl and Six small ones, I believe only the large bowl has the makers name on it in most cases, while the small bowls may just say Made in France,  the way the name looks is very mis-leading as I am 99.99% sure the the Company was called Auxers, I think there is a letter s on end,  I sold my complete set onto a Dealer who only sold French Glass and I remember at the time there was very little information if any to be found on the internet

regards  :D roy

Thanks Roy

That may very well be the case - my bowls are smaller and don't carry the full name?

Jo is your piece larger size that could be the bowl of a desert set?

I don't know about the name - Roy reads it as Auxers while Roy reads it as Arrers

http://tinypic.com/e8uyae.jpg - I get Auxers and Arrers when I google but from Roy's pic I would say it looks like Arrers, or does it, that could just be an A and X rather than two R's

?????

David, Yes mine is the larger bowl. I am sure the first two letters are AR but the next letter could be RV or even X  :? The last three letters are ERS. I think it's either Arrers or Arvers. Arvers seems to be a French surname, so maybe that is more likely?  :?

Excellent Jo

We seem to have with the help of Roy identified that this was a desert set  - large bowl which was signed Arrers, Auxers or Arvers to base with six, perhaps eight smaller bowls with 'Made in France' under the handle - Art Deco c1930 in either opalescent or clear glass, probably other colours as well (perhaps tints)

Jo any chance of a pic of your large bowl? - a lot to ask but I can then place in next to my two smaller dishes for a more complete research picture

Ref the name - I have taken a few pics and done this impression - it looks like Arrers to me

Thanks

Here's a photo of my bowl. It's 24 centimetres in diameter and 4.5 cm high.
