signed on base strathearn 1976 JD
does anyone know if the JD is for john deacons
conformation would be appreciated

Are you doubting the castle (which is just fine, btw) or the person being john deacons? And how is the unpacking coming? And how is your sweetie and daughter?

As to the rest, piece by piece, and Felicity loves it here. She is animal crazy and this place has more life-forms than the Peking Ikea. At the vet today and he described the area as the Tic capital of Europe...hmmm. But a larger variety of butterflies than I have seen since childhood, bats, boar, geckos... multiple bee/wasp/hornet... a chiaroscuro of beetles and some things I would not start to describe.. not so many people though.

The piece depicting Edinburgh Castle was made by Jane Dickinson who was working with me at Strathearn at that time. The piece was cast at Strathearn in a mold I designed. I do not remember now if this was the only one made but I suspect it was.  The engraving technique is deep sandblast with polishing. Jane now lives in Wool in Dorset. I do have a relief engraving of Jane’s on a similar block in my collection here.  They were just decorative objects more designed for the trophy market.
