Art Nouveau vase id....
« on: June 23, 2009, 01:45:40 AM »
Hi Folks,

This one has stumped me for a while...the poppy decoration is acid-etched. The vase has a polished pontil and the rim is ground and polished..

Help!

a polished pontil and the rim is ground and polished..

That combination is not logical, so you're probably looking at a reworked rim. It might have been a Berluze at one stage? Floral decoration etched and filled in with gold is often associated with Clichy and Sèvres - for what it's worth.
