This is a very small (7.5cm head to tail) bird with pretty marbled glass.

I would say Chinese, the canes used inside look like chinese canes.
Hard to be categorical from the pics but that's my initial thought.

You're right that it is Chinese, Alexander. These are sold a lot online. Many are even correctly identified.
