Hi David, I am waiting for Anita to come across it and give me her thoughts.
As far as Montana goes, it is further off of I5 than I normally go also, except for the fact I got paid to go there. I would have been at home and missed the opportunity. I got some great stuff there including the Vallerysthal vases, which I am thrilled to have been able to buy very very reasonably... I also got, among other things, a fabulous White Steuben Cluthra in the largest size of shape 2683, a 10.5 x 10 inch vase that is magnificent.... No one there knew what it was, and in the whole scheme of things I got it for a song. Not too many high end art glass collectors in the area the auction was held.
The guy had great books also, and I doubled the size of my reference library for the types of glass I study the most....... and they sold the books in box lots..... I bought 4 large boxes for $110.
It was one of those auctions you talk about for years, and hope you get the chance to go to another one like it..... someday.....
This Murano piece reminds me of some of the Seguso pieces also, but it is not quite right for that.... I am thrilled with it though, regardless of who did it. It is perfectly executed, and the best part is that I picked it up for $30, and could not get my money out quick enough....
