Hi folks..any help welcome..polished pontil..approx 3 inch wide...2 and a half inch high..quite heavy..no signature that i can see..but nice colours..

Thanks, I look forward to the revised pic.

Plus, if you could please, a pic of the base - just to help with my thoughts ... which are ... it's probably a Vasart Ltd item but might be Strathearn. One of the "transitional" ones during the few years either side of the company changing name.

Thanks Jean.

I have used my moderator ability to remove the original image and add a note to that effect.

Although your new images are oval rather than round, I can see that the base finish is fire polished and slightly indented which certainly fits with the later Vasart Ltd/ early Strathearn period. But to say whether it is actually Vasart Ltd or Strathearn is beyond my current skills.

Thank you for your help (i searched for ages last night for an edit button and couldnt find it ).
My photos often come out oval when i resize them !! Thank you for your advice on the weight..beautiful colours..

Jean, you can only edit your own posts for an hour after making them. Beyond that time you need to ask a Moderator to do it for you. HTH. :)
