Glass Polar Bear - An ID Please
« Reply #11 on: August 20, 2009, 12:49:18 AM »
I an re-igniting an earlier query I had posted on the Board for an ID for a glass polar bear that I bought in the UK some years ago.  I have attached another photo of the bear with this note.  It is around 7.5 cm tall and around 10.5cm from tip of snout to the back of the ice it stands on.  The base wear (extremely heavy and almost opaque) leads me to believe that the bear has age to it.  The ice flow that the bear stands on has a blue tint while the bear is pure white, with a satin finish.  There are paint additions on the eyes and nose.  This bear is a treasured part of my collection and I am really hoping to get some background on the manufacturer, date and country of origin. Any ideas.

Alison, I've married up this query with the earlier topic you posted about it, to keep everything together.

Many thanks.  I am not brilliant at negotiating my way round the Board and found the whole (earlier) process of uploading photos very confusing.  I hope someone can give me some leads on the bear.
