Triangular blue dish / ashtray - Czech possibly?
« on: August 31, 2009, 01:13:15 PM »
Size: 117mm across, 30mm deep

Triangular dish or ashtray, with an offset triangle inside.  I initially thought this was a Sklo Union piece, but the shape doesn't match any pattern I can find! The base is totally flat and smooth and the colour is a great sky blue. Any thoughts as to who it would be by please?
Cheers! Anne, da tekniqual wizzerd

Yes and no Anik!   I didn't find it, but Marcus did tell me who and where but I can't remember what he said!  :-[ I may have written it down somewhere but I can't find where (yet!)

Anne and Anik,

I'm sure someone has asked this question before and had an answer. Certainly there were more ashtrays with a rounded triangular form - whether or not they are the same I can't remember though. :-[ Might be worth searching the database.

Hi Cathy...  before I posted my question, I had searched the database, but did not find what I was looking for.  Maybe I missed something along the way, or perhaps did not type in the right keywords...  but I'm pretty sure this exact ashtray has not appeared before.

But I'll check again.  :)

???  Just going to let some thoughts fall from my head HERE and also HERE but both are merely *suggestions* as a possible lead to try to go elsewhere -- but I dunno ????

Hi Rose, Thank you for the links, but sadly those ashtrays are not the same as Anne's.   :'(

Cathy, I searched the database again, looking for ashtray + 'sklo', 'Czech', 'triangle', 'triangular', 'union'...  and nothing.

I guess I'll just have to wait for Anne to jog her memory  ;D

I don't recall seeing one like mine on the board before either (or I'd have added mine rather than posted anew), so I'm sure it's not been discussed. I'm still thinking about what it might have been and trying to find my note somewhere in the heap of papers awaiting sorting in the corner of my office! I'll update asap.
