The french glass makers Daum and Art Vannes made many centerpieces similar to this one, no marks on the base?

John.

OK now I am getting confused.  Thanks to another thread on here I confess I made the error in thinking Bayel was a manufacturer when infact its a place.  I have now found my clear glass pieces which imitate Murano in their weight and thickness on various websites and these are marked Art Vannes.  Mine do not have any markings except this does have a Bayel Cristaline label the others have nothing.  Which other glass makers could have bought the moulds and produced such lovely centerpieces without marking them.  If anyone could please answer this as its now driving me nutty.  I have various pieces all of the same quality and would like to ID them.

Most glass is not marked with the name of the maker, this can be a problem or it can be seen as an opportunity for us would be glass detectives. As a result any remaining labels become very useful for identification.
Items may leave a factory without a makers mark for many reasons, perhaps the person who normally did that job was absent, the machine was broken or there was just not enough time to fulfil an order, maybe the buyer wanted it that way.
It is very pleasing when you eventually do manage to identify an item after a long time searching.
Sorry I can not be of any constructive help.

John

There are no moulds involved in pieces like this, they are hot worked by hand. Unfortunately hot working often produces similar pieces from places 1000s of miles apart (and glassmakers have always been very mobile). That's when you start looking at clues like colour and style details. If you have found marked pieces virtually identical to yours, then you have your answer. You are in France so there is every likelihood that your pieces are French.

Most of us have shelves full of glass unknowns and maybes
